VCW Certification for Trainers

In addition to the VCW requirements for Certification (see Table Above), an extra exam is required for the following certifications: VCW Sprint Trainer, VCW Journey Trainer, VCW Method Trainer, VCW Meta Framework Trainer, and VCW Ecosystem Trainer. Depending on the certification level, the exam will have different degrees of difficulty.

Certified trainers embody a holistic blend of qualifications, competencies, and personal attributes essential for delivering effective learning experiences. Here's an overview of the expectations associated with certified trainers:

  • Certified trainers are required to demonstrate a profound understanding and mastery of the subject matter they teach. This entails comprehensive knowledge of relevant theories, articles, principles, case studies, best practices, and company and industry examples.

  • Upholding professional standards and ethical principles, VCW-certified trainers maintain confidentiality about VCW projects, respect diversity of opinions, and act with integrity in all interactions with learners and internal and external stakeholders.

  • VCW-certified trainers recognize the importance of ongoing professional development and proactively seek opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, and qualifications, ensuring relevance and efficacy in their practice.

  • Adept in pedagogical methods, VCW-certified trainers are expected to apply the corresponding VCW tools and design principles that engage and create impactful learning experiences tailored to the target markets' diverse needs at different levels.

  • Effective communication is critical for a VCW-certified trainer's role. They are expected to convey complex concepts competently, facilitate discussions, and ensure clarity through verbal and nonverbal means while actively listening to learners' perspectives.

  • VCW-certified trainers must exhibit adaptability by customizing their VCW teaching approaches to accommodate learners' various learning styles, preferences, and skill levels, thereby fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

  • VCW-certified trainers demonstrate empathy and patience and create a positive and supportive atmosphere where learners feel comfortable seeking clarification and guidance throughout their learning journey.

  • VCW-certified trainers must be proficient in assessment and feedback methodologies while evaluating the learner's progress. They must provide constructive feedback and identify areas for improvement, thereby facilitating continuous growth and development.

Validity of VCW Certification: Three Years

The validity period of the Value Creation Wheel certification is 3 years. The Certification balances the need to ensure the current knowledge and skills of the VCW with the practicalities of professional development. Here are some considerations to determine an appropriate validity period for a VCW certification:

Key Considerations

1. Continuing Education: Many certifications are valid for 2-5 years. Offering mechanisms for continuing education and professional development can help maintain certification validity. This could include attending VCW workshops, completing additional coursework, or participating in relevant professional activities.

2. Learning Retention and Skill Relevance: Skills and knowledge become outdated. Ensuring that certified individuals stay proficient and up to date requires periodic re-certification.

3. Rate of Industry Change and Cultural Context: In rapidly evolving fields, a shorter certification validity ensures practitioners remain current with the latest trends, methodologies, and technologies. This is the case in innovation, decision-making, change/transformation, problem-solving, and value creation.

Recertification Requirements

To maintain certification validity, the following recertification requirements can be implemented:

1. Continuing Education: Require a certain number of continuing education units (CEUs) or professional development hours within the validity period.

2. Professional Practice: Document ongoing professional practice and engagement in relevant projects or roles.

3. Renewal Exam: A shorter, focused exam that tests updated knowledge and skills.

5. Workshops/Seminars: Attendance and participation in relevant workshops, seminars, or conferences.

6. Case Study Submission: Submission of a case study or project demonstrating the application of VCW in a real-world context.

By setting a three-year validity period and establishing clear recertification requirements, the certification program can ensure that practitioners remain competent and current in their field, thereby maintaining the integrity and value of the certification.
